TWO DOORS DOWN

Calyx (pronounce kelliks) is an envelope-shaped part of a flower that protects the developing flower bud. In 1973, we chose that name for our band because we wanted something different. We have often regretted it afterwards, when organisers of events misspelled the name on billboards or in advertisements. However, we have stuck with Calyx as this name still reflects the music we play: colourful and full of variety like flowers. We have great respect for traditional country music, but at the same time we like to explore new horizons and create of our distinct sound. Our new album ‘Two doors down’ contains 16 of our own songs plus one cover that Thecla really wanted to sing. The music showcases different styles and the songs present a positive outlook on life with lyrics for contemplation or enjoyment.
If you enjoy listening to ‘Two doors down’ as much as we did in making it, you will have a wonderful time!
