With a mutual desire to express their ideals through ministry based performances Wim Pols, Hans Steeds, Mijndert van der Beek and Ruud van de Meeberg start in 1986 the Country Trail Band next to their other musical pursuits.


In 1990 each member for himself decides to fully concentrate on his ministry in the Country Trail Band and stops his other musical pursuits.

In 1992 DURECO releases Country Trail Band’s 1st album:
"Don’t Play For Nothing".

In 1992 a 25 minutes TV special was broadcast on national TV by Evangelical Broadcast Organization (EO) in the Netherlands.


In 1992 the band was the key part in the Netherlands’ Christian Country Tour, featuring Ken Holloway.


In 1993 the band had a key role in the Netherlands’ Christian Country Tour, featuring Nathan and Susan Forrister (USA) and Thirza (Nl).


CD Cover: In The Eye Of The Storm

In 1994 DURECO releases the Country Trail Band’s 2nd album "In The Eye Of The Storm".


The Country Trail Band has been awarded with ‘Country Song of the Year 1994’ for the title track of their 2nd album ‘In The Eye Of The Storm’.


‘In The Eye Of The Storm’ was a #1 song for 13 months on the European Christian Country Chart.


More and more Thirza appears at the Country Trail Band performances.

In January 1995 DURECO releases CTB’s 3rd album "Make Up Your Mind", with special guests Thirza.

In February 1995 The Country Trail Band toured in the USA, performing amongst others at the National Religious Broadcasters Conference held in Nashville, Tn; the Grand Ole Opry (Nashville, Tn.) together with George Hamilton IV; appearances in Alabama and Georgia, together with Nathan and Susan Forrister; Chicago, Ill., doing a 60 minutes TV show for TV38; appearances in Indiana.


December 1995, Country Trail Festival at Gouda, The Netherlands, together with Thirza the only Dutch Christian country artists in an all American artist package (Ken Holloway, Buddy Miller, Midsouth, Kelly Willard).

In November 1997 DURECO releases CTB’s 4th album "He’s Got The Road". 


During the years the Country Trail Band has been a backing band for George Hamilton IV (1987, 1989, 1991, 1995 (2x), 1997), Ken Holloway (1992 and 1995), Nathan and Susan Forrister (1993) while they were touring in the Netherlands respectively.

The Country Trail Band appeared on Nathan and Susan Forrister’s album "Borrowed Time", recorded in Bremen, Ga., USA in February 1995.

The Netherlands’ Esther Tims, Arjan and Evi Knevel, Debbie Lee, Thirza were amongst the Christian artists that performed with the Country Trail Band.

The Country Trail Band members Hans Steeds, Ruud van de Meeberg and Mijndert van der Beek appeared on Wim Pols' album "Fly Back Home To You", recorded in 1999, released in 2000 by DURECO.

Reunited with The Country Trail Band Wim Pols recorded "Iets dichterbij" (all lyrics are in Dutch). The album is released in March 2001 by Living Waters.


In December 2001 Living Waters released the Wim Pols and the Country Trail Band CD "Tel uw zegeningen" (all lyrics are in Dutch). Featured artists: Harry and Marijke Govers, Ester and Sharon Tims, Thécla Rutting and Wilma Meeuwis.

The Country Trail Band members Hans Steeds, Ruud van de Meeberg and Astrid Langeland appeared on Wim Pols' album "Two Doors Down", recorded and released in 2002 by Living Waters.

Labour of love (2003) The Country Trail Band's latest album is 'Labour Of Love'.
In June 2003 Living Waters released the Country Trail Band's 7th CD (as a special service to our Dutch listeners a dutch translation of all songs is added). Featured guests are: vocalist Thécla Rutting and fiddler Gideon van Buitenen.
