Astrid lives in Emmen (Drente, Netherlands), where she was born January 15, 1970.
At an early age she began listening - fully interested - to country music, together with her father who possessed a lot of traditional country music records. She loved to sing along with her favorite singer Emmylou Harris, but Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn are also amongst her favorites.
At one moment in her life she consciously chose for a personal relationship with God.
Astrid accepted Jesus Christ to be her redeemer and was baptized at the age of 21.
One year later she met Marcel. They decided to get married and today they have four children: Amy (1993), Sem (1997), Ischa (2000) and Lois (2008).
Marcel played guitar and joined the band of the Baptist church in their hometown. He was also a member of the 'Balance Band' (power praise).
After a short period this band started looking for vocalists. They asked Astrid to join them.
But she prefered country music and together with Marcel she looked for musicians to form a Christian country music band.
'Profile' started in 1998 and still active today.
At a festival in Vriescheloo (Gr.) she met Wim Pols and Thecla Rutting, who also performed there.
Wim was impressed by Astrid's voice and invited 'Profile' to come to the radio studio in Hilversum for a special in his program "Country Trail".
Next, everything gained momentum, resulting in several guest appearances with Wim Pols and the Country Trail Band, a few CD productions and in April 2001 Astrid Langeland joined the Country Trail Band.
In 2002 Astrid recorded a CD project (with a lot of original songs) together with her home based group 'Profile'.

Back to the country is
de titel van het nieuwe album van de Country Trail Band. Met
dit album gaat de Nederlandse band
helemaal terug naar haar wortels.
Een gedeelde passie voor evangelisatie
en countrymuziek leidde in 1985 tot de oprichting van de Country Trail Band. Een
jaar later verscheen de eerste LP met Engelstalige
countrygospels. Verschillende albums volgden, allemaal gevuld
met een mix van Amerikaanse songs en eigen nummers. In de
afgelopen 10 jaar heeft de groep echter voornamelijk
Nederlandstalige CD's uitgebracht omdat bij optredens in
kerken een grote behoefte bleek te bestaan aan liederen
